Conquering Digital Space

The first time I heard of and saw Claire Mawisa was whilst walking past the magazine stand at OK Bazaars in Thohoyandou (Venda). Without hesitation I bought the magazine and continued to pour over it for the next few weeks. Claire was the youngest and the 2nd black South African beauty to be featured on the cover of the local Cosmopolitan magazine – her accomplishment blew me away. 

She’s had many achievements since 1994 that have lead her being a household name. To me she is still the reigning Queen of Sexy, and was officially bestowed the title in 2006 by Sunday World readers. Today (as in Thursday, 10 March) she is taking part in the Cosmo shoot for the May issue that will feature the digital divas who are making their voices heard on Twitter. The Cosmo Twitter Queens is a round-up of the top 25 female Tweeters in South Africa, and combined they have well over 150 000 followers.  According to Cosmo these are fun fearless females know what to say, how to say it and when to say it.  Claire is one to look out for.
