Our public health sector is constantly in the
news over the degeneration of professional and care of patients. However walking into George Hospital was a
surreal experience; other than the public toilets the whole place was spotless
and except that one security all the
staff were very friendly and helpful. The then health minister, now deceased, Dr
ME Tshabala-Msimang gave this flag ship project highest praise which to this day is still deserves.
What they do need perhaps are more doctors. I
don’t grasp how the processes and procedures work in hospitals but surely High
Care Ward should not be without a doctor, to check on patients, for over
12-hours?
