The Thrill That Is Björk

We were packed like sardines in the CTA buses. We got to Union Park for the Pictchfork Music Festival, and, more specifically, for Björk. After checking layout of the venue we found a spot to perch and wait. Unbelievable, at least to me who has never been to a concert that started on time, Björk started her performance 20:30 - on the dot - as billed on the program.

About an hour into her performance she made an announcement that the weather station requested we evacuate the venue. She was reluctant saying the weather was calm compared to Iceland. The lights came on followed by some wavering ‘we want Björk!’ chants. It appears the natives knew better for they emptied the park, grumbling.

A little while later we got off the bus to be confronted by lightening and what I consider a severe storm. Debris was flying everywhere. All an umbrella was useful for was lessening the intensity of the rain falling on one’s head, but due to the wind blowing in all directions one got soaked regardless.

...

So. I really tried not to distract Björk. Truly. I just had to get a picture, just one – she turned and looked my way. *hides*.

Quintessential Bjork!

Biophilia is her latest album.
